Hilarious!!!!

This movie does not take itself very seriously. The plot unfolds within first 10 minutes and then you are in for a hilarious ride. The characters are very funny and lovable. Their is nothing new about the story. Boy meets girl, fall in love, want to get married. Only problem, Boy is African American, girl is Indian. Enter girls brother, he forcefully takes her back to India. Now boy along with his friends undertake an adventure to save the girl and bring her back to United States. BUT the movie does not bore for a single minute and moves at breakneck speed. Since the focus is only on getting the laughs, director avoids any serious melodrama and sticks to laughter formula. And it works for the most part. Specially the girls father,Tiger Singh is very funny. He takes his name so seriously that he actually keeps a tiger in a cage to feed his ego. Have FUN!

Laugh all the way through!

A crazy comedy all the way, could not stop laughing. I wanted to watch it for a long time since I missed the theatrical release in 2009. I don't know what took so long for them to put this on DVD. But I really enjoyed it. Meera is a student in San Francisco and plays with a band called 'Nerve Block'. When her brother, Prem learns about her love for an African American classmate, Meera is whisked away to India. Her friends take a trip to India to rescue Meera from an impending marriage to a Prince. Their adventure makes up the rest of the story of the film. The movie is shot in a very beautiful manner, literally a symphony of colors. The screenplay is entirely focused on making you laugh. The lead actors are just okay but the supporting cast makes it worth watching. Specially Tiger Singh, the father of bride! That guy is hilarious! Crazy stuff...If you are in to serious cinema, this is not for you.

Very funny

Have you heard of some one who keeps a tiger in his backyard just because his name happens to be "Tiger Singh". Get prepared for this and more absurdities which are absolutely hilarious. The we have our deal Americans dealing with very practical problems in India, like using an Indian toilet. Everything sounds full of crap but for some reason makes you laugh. Meera is forcefully brought back from San Francisco to a village in India, when her family discovers that she is in love with an African American. Now her boyfriend along with his buddies must go to India to her rescue. What happens after wards is pure fun. I did not know about Kabaddi, an Indian wrestling sport until I watched this film.

Riot of colors and laughter!

I almost did not watch this film. But my boyfriend insisted. So we did! It was a pleasant surprise. The movie has a huge canvas for an indie film. It is about this girl, Meera who is at San Francisco on a student visa which is about to expire. She falls in love with her African American classmate and they decide to get married. But Meera's family takes her back to India against her wishes. Her boyfriend along with his friends undertake a journey to India to rescue Meera. The plot is run of the mill, fish out of water kind of story, BUT the treatment is worth many laughs. The director does not try to make a serious love story but is only focused at comedy. You could even call this film a parody of Indian blockbuster,"Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge". The movie gets very comical and interesting once we get to India. The character of girl's father, Tiger Singh is hilarious and over the top. You see him and you start laughing. Fatso Fasano as Shorty Chipps is very good. The lead actors are just okay but on the whole a good comedy. I still can't stop laughing, Poor Fatso trying to take a crap! Watch it, I am not kidding.
