Actor Timothée Chalamet is a critical darling, with many of his films receiving overwhelmingly positive reviews alongside commercial success. He was also nominated for a Best Actor Academy Award for his work in 2017’s Call Me by Your Name. However, despite a glowing career of critical acclaim, one film in Chalamet’s filmography remains a catastrophic failure.
Olivia Wilde in Love the Coopers
In 2015, Chalamet starred in the star-studded Holiday comedy film Love the Coopers. However, despite featuring the likes of Olivia Wilde and Diane Keaton, the film could not be saved from being a critical mistake in Chalamet’s career, becoming his lowest-rated film. Here is why Love the Coopers failed despite boasting one of the best ensemble casts for a comedy film.

Following the conclusion of the Dceu with the release of ‘Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom,’ James Gunn has been diligently preparing for the production of ‘Superman: Legacy,’ an upcoming Superman movie that both Gunn and Safran view as the true starting point of the Dcu, despite ‘Creature Commandos’ being released earlier.
Known for his active presence on social media, Gunn frequently engages with fans, addressing questions, dispelling rumors, and offering valuable insights into the anticipated final product. Fans are particularly eager about the cast members, with Gunn stating that over 90% of the cast is already confirmed. Another aspect generating excitement is the selection of technical personnel poised to elevate ‘Superman: Legacy’ into the cinematic masterpiece envisioned by Gunn.
Responding to inquiries on Threads about potential cinematographers for the project, Gunn enthusiastically revealed that Henry Braham, a cinematographer he has previously collaborated with, is set to take on the role.

Ever since the Dceu concluded with the reBit lease of ‘Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom’ Gunn has been working tirelessly to start production on ‘Superman: Legacy’ an upcoming Superman movie that both Gunn and Safran consider the true beginning of the Dcu despite ‘Creature Commandos’ being released first.
Gunn is quite active on social media, and more often than not, he answers fan questions and debunks rumors, as well as provides useful insights regarding what the finished product might be like. The aspect of the movie that fans are most excited about are certainly the cast members (and Gunn claims that he has more than 90% of the cast locked in) and the technical personnel set to transform ‘Superman: Legacy’ into a prime movie Gunn imagines it to be.

There’ll be some happy holidays on Prime Video in December, as the streamer’s seasonal offerings hope to keep the fires warm in your home this month!
As such, there are quite a few new original holiday movies coming to the service. At the beginning of the month, Eddie Murphy stars in Candy Cane Lane. In this film, the Beverly Hills Cop and Coming to America star plays a determined man who is willing to go above and beyond to win the annual Christmas home decoration contest in his neighborhood – even if it means making a very magical deal.
The DC universe will also be getting festive in December thanks to Merry Little Batman, an animated feature that sees Batman’s son, Damian Wayne, stumble upon a villainous plot on Christmas eve, one that may give him a chance to save the day when his dad isn’t around.

The new animated film Leo feels like a passion project for Adam Sandler, who gave it his all, even though it was just through his voice, to bring a lizard alive on the screen. A lizard of all animals! Sure, there has been Rango, where Rango was a chameleon, but he could at least change colors! A lizard just sounds off for some reason, and here Sandler voices, not a young lizard but a 74-year-old one who wants to see the world, with probably just a year left before it croaks. And yet there is a heartwarming story here, where the lizard named Leo becomes the reason why the lives of fifth graders change for the better. Some stories have a plot that is perhaps too grim to be dealt with directly, and this is where children’s stories come in. Sometimes, they can harbor great themes that even lengthy...

“Nanny McPhee” director Kirk Jones is set to take on Donald Trump in his first television series, “You’ve Been Trumped.”
The drama, based on Anthony Baxter’s 2011 documentary, tells the story of a small Scottish village who took on the then-reality TV star when he tried to build a golf course in a nature reserve. Jones, who has previously written and directed “Waking Ned” and “Everybody’s Fine,” is also writing the project while Baxter will serve as a creative consultant.
“There was a reason why the world’s media was drawn to this story in 2006 and why there was such a determined effort to prevent Anthony Baxter’s excellent documentary of the same name, being released in 2011,” said Jones. “A special site of scientific interest was stripped of its status and a community of decent people faced an unwanted aggressor. Welcome to The B-Side, from The Film Stage. Here we talk about movie stars and filmmakers and not the movies that made them famous or kept them famous, but the ones they made in between.
Today, Conor and I dish on our movie crushes. More specifically, the movie crush from my life as a young cinephile: Kate Beckinsale.
The B-Sides in the pipeline are: Laurel Canyon, Tiptoes, Nothing but the Truth, Whiteout, and Everybody’s Fine.
The sheer diversity of these five pictures cannot be overstated. Beckinsale, while known by most Americans for her role in the Underworld franchise, comes from a comedy lineage in the U.K., the daughter of sitcom legend Richard Beckinsale. Soon enough, period pieces like Much Ado About Nothing gave way to Hollywood dramas like Brokedown Palace and indie spotlights like The Last Days of Disco for Kate Beckinsale. And then… Pearl Harbor!

David Beckham and his son Brooklyn were involved in a car accident on Saturday. According to reports, the crash happened after David picked up Brooklyn from a match at the Arsenal soccer team's center in Hertfordshire, England. The father and son did not suffer serious injuries, although an eyewitness reportedly said the retired soccer star's shoulder appeared to be hurting. According to The Telegraph, the driver's side of David's Audi was damaged, and the vehicle's air bags deployed upon impact. "They were shaken," a source reportedly told the newspaper. "It was quite a heavy prang at quite a speed, but everybody walked away uninjured. Everybody's fine." People's source made a similar statement, saying, "David and Brooklyn were shaken by the accident but thankfully Ok."...

This summer, we're going to be taking a look at the summer movie season from a number of different angles. Kristopher Tapley put up a great piece yesterday about his favorite summer movie summer, back in 1989, and you can expect three more of those. We also just posted a gallery of people we think have a chance at being breakout stars by the time September rolls around. But each month, we're also going to be taking a look at people who are at a crossroads, people who are having defining moments, people who are either on the wane or on the rise, and we're going to spotlight them. We're going to look at the stakes for them this summer, and how this could change things for them. May is kicking off the summer movie season this year with "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," which brings us to our first star… Emma Stone...

Kicking off our coverage of the 25th anniversary of the perennially popular Italian classic, we catch up with Salvatore Cascio, who played the saucer-eyed Totò as a child
• Cinema Paradiso: watch the trailer for the 25th anniversary edition
• Hats off! The Observer's 2000 interview with Philippe Noiret
In 1988, during the first round of auditions to cast the lead boy in his next film, the director Giuseppe Tornatore asked eight-year-old Salvatore Cascio what cinema meant to him. The young Cascio thought for a moment. "For me," he said, "cinema is like an enormous television."
"He looked a bit taken aback, and then he laughed," says Cascio, now 34, and speaking from his home near the Sicilian town of Palazzo Adriano, where Tornatore shot much of Cinema Paradiso. "I'd never even been to the cinema before – I didn't really know what it was. So I think my answer amused him. Perhaps it's what got me the part.

Every family has a different set of dynamics for how siblings and parents communicate problems and deal with crises, and writer and director Kirk Jones’s mellow drama Everybody’s Fine explores that idea rather nicely. As four siblings deal with an undisclosed ordeal afflicting one among them, their father, played by Robert De Niro, takes it upon himself to connect with each of them and in the process gets the impression there’s something he’s not being told. A bit uneven at times thanks to the story using random strangers to impart pearls of wisdom or set in motion certain obstacles, where Everybody's Fine really shines is when De Niro goes head to head with his three grown and present children, acted admirably by Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale, and Sam Rockwell. It’s far from perfect, but it’s a touching drama that hits all the right notes.

Before MTV News' Summer Movie Preview Week wraps up, let's take a look at the very star-studded ensemble romantic comedy "What to Expect When You're Expecting." Although inspired by the very popular nonfiction book of the same name, the movie revolves around five very different couples and the hilarious highs and lows they experience during pregnancy.
The cast includes the following actors as couples: Elizabeth Banks and Ben Falcone, Dennis Quaid and Brooklyn Decker (the joke about their age gap is in the film, don't worry!), Anna Kendrick and Chace Crawford, Cameron Diaz and Matthew Morrison, and Jennifer Lopez and Rodrigo Santoro. Screenwriter and poet who co-scripted films with Fellini, Antonioni and Tarkovsky
The Italian poet, novelist and screenwriter Tonino Guerra, who has died aged 92, brought something of his own poetic world to the outstanding films he co-scripted with, among others, Federico Fellini, Michelangelo Antonioni and Francesco Rosi, but also many non-Italian directors including Theo Angelopoulos and Andrei Tarkovsky. Perhaps his most creative contribution was to Fellini's colourful account of life in a small coastal town in the 1930s, Amarcord (1973), of which he was truly co-author, because the film reflected their common experiences growing up in Romagna.
The two were born in the region a couple of months apart – Fellini in Rimini and Guerra in Santarcangelo, in the hills above the Adriatic resort, the son of a street vendor father.
Guerra's own "amarcord" ("I remember" in dialect) is scattered over many books of poetry and short stories. He first started writing...

Well, it's not specifically only for dudes, but the new trailer for What to Expect When You're Expecting is clearly trying to pull in the male audience with most of the focus being pulled towards the group of guys taking care of their kids. Thankfully, that includes some decent comedy from Rob Huebel, Chris Rock, Thomas Lennon, and more as they try to teach Rodrigo Santoro the rules of hanging out with them and their children. Lennon says not to judge, but this film is desparate to convince guys that this isn't just a typical romantic comedy for the ladies, when the first trailer showed it was exactly that. Watch! British actress Kate Beckinsale returned to the big screen after a long break to reprise her role as sexy vampire Selene in Underworld Awakening.
The fourth chapter in the Underworld horror franchise hit cinemas in January.
Kate will be back in action alongside Mark Wahlberg in Contraband - out in the UK on March 16 - and with husband Len Wiseman's remake of Total Recall, co-starring Colin Farrell and released in August.
So where has she been these past three years? And what's it been like getting back into action-movie mode?
Prior to the recent Underworld adventure, we last saw Kate on screen in 2009 in the drama Everybody's Fine and the poorly-received comic book adaptation Whiteout.
Another film she worked on in 2009 with Matt Dillon and Vera Farmiga went straight to DVD, and she says a Hollywood writers' strike meant there were few projects around.

Eddie Murphy is in the middle of a comeback with his "Tower Heist" film and the upcoming job of hosting the Academy Awards. But even though he has delivered box office bomb after box office bomb during the last few years, he was only the second most overpaid actor in Forbes' list of Hollywood's Most Overpaid Stars. Taking first place is Drew Barrymore, whose films returned just $0.40 for every dollar the studios spent on her. The actress doesn't earn as much as some of the other people on the list, but her films have consistently performed poorly, like "Everybody's Fine" and "Lucky You." Murphy landed in second place with hit films grossing $2.70 for every dollar spent on him. "Imagine That" and "Meet Dave" earned the actor millions, but neither film earned back its production budget. Looking at the rest of the list, you might find it surprising that Reese Witherspoon,...

Forbes magazine's list of the lowest-grossing stars is headed by star of box-office flops Going the Distance and Whip It
If your name is Will Ferrell, today is a (relatively) good day. The star of The Land of the Lost and The Other Guys can no longer be tarnished with the mantle of Hollywood's least profitable star following the publication of the Forbes magazine list of the top 10 most overpaid actors.
Drew Barrymore is the new queen of excess after Forbes noted that her recent films pulled in a meagre 40 cents per $1 spent. By comparison Ferrell, who has famously topped the list for the last two years running, is now worth $3.50 per $1.
The Saturday Night Live alumnus still finds himself in third place on the list largely thanks to the box-office failure of The Land of the Lost ($70m return on a $100m budget) in 2009. Last year's The Other Guys...

Los Angeles, Nov 4: Drew Barrymore has been named the most overpaid actor in Hollywood by Forbes magazine.
Barrymore tops Forbes 2011 list of Hollywood's Most Overpaid Actors list with a return average of 40 percent for every dollar movie studios spend on her.
The 36-year-old's films have failed to rake in moolah at the box office in the past five years. 'Everybody's Fine' earned only $16 million globally and 'Lucky You' brought in only $8 million.
The second position went to Eddie Murphy. He returns $2.70 for every dollar spent on him. Will Farrell is at the third position with a return average.

Drew Barrymore and Eddie Murphy have been named and shamed as the most overpaid actors in Hollywood.
The Forbes.com poll suggests Barrymore's recent movies have generated a return of just $0.40 (£0.25) for every $1 (£0.63) she is paid by film studio bosses, thanks to box office flops Whip It, Everybody's Fine and last year's Going The Distance, which earned a paltry $17.8 million (£11.13 million) in U.S. ticket sales.
Dreamgirls star Murphy fared considerably better - his films returned $2.70 (£1.69) for every dollar, but it wasn't enough to save him from second place on the list as 2008's Meet Dave and 2009's Imagine That failed to attract fans to open their wallets.
But Barrymore and Murphy aren't the only stars to draw criticism - funnyman Will Ferrell and Oscar winners Reese Witherspoon and Denzel Washington round out the top five.

"If I had to pick one, 'Singin' in the Rain' is probably one of the best films ever made. Donald O'Connor's performance in that is just, I love him. I think he was great….
Even 'The Wizard of Oz,' I'm a sucker for... 'The Shining.' 'Goodfellas.' I mean, I love anything Martin Scorsese did… 'Everybody's Fine' [with] Marcello Mastroianni… Short films [like] 'La Jetée,' great film, experimental.

Check out Kate Beckinsale's backside! Yes, indeed. The Everybody's Fine star was looking pretty darn fine as she soaked up a little sun in Mexico on Tuesday. The actress, on vacay with her director hubby Len Wiseman, easily gave paps the perfect pic while sporting a black two-piece. Sure, Rihanna may have just been named Esquire's Sexiest Woman Alive. But, lest we forget, Kate also received the very same honor back in 2009. Of course, given what we see here, maybe that title should simply be bestowed upon her every year.

The annual pubicity stunt that is the Hollywood Film Festival Awards have been announced. The ceremony will take place on October 24th, 2011. No publicity is bad publicity so this is good news for all of the recipients, especially since in most cases they are blocking some direct competition from picking up the very same free publicity. (Not that publicity is free but... oh never mind.) Just for fun I've included the past two years of recipients in italics below this year's honor so you can gauge their general behavior (which is erratic in terms of titles of awards, number of recipients, and whether it has any reflection of general awards season hoopla).

Kate Moennig has been an AfterEllen.com favorite since she first appeared on The L Word as Shane McCutcheon, the girl everyone wanted to date and just couldn't hate, no matter how many times she screwed them over. The actress behind the role has managed to move on from the series to play a doctor (Three Rivers), a tattoo artist (Dexter) and a druggie prostitute (The Lincoln Lawyer). There's no typecasting for this woman, who told our Lindsey Byrnes (during a shoot for the new issue of Work magazine) about her experiences as an actor, the difference between film and TV and how she developed her own sense of style.

Another batch of movie news bits has arrived this time bringing news of Thor 2, cast departures from World War Z, a new directing gig for Drew Barrymore and new films for Vince Vaughn and Brooklyn Decker. Continue on for more details...
Marvel and Disney have already decided Thor 2 will hit theaters on July 26, 2013, the same summer the studio will release Iron Man 3 (5/3/13) as the Avengers films continue to steamroll along. Chris Hemsworth is also set to return as the title character, but Thor helmer Kenneth Branagh will not be returning as director, though he will likely be involved in some producing capacity. So I guess we'll be seeing Thor 2 director shortlists very soon. [Deadline]
Despite the fact filming is already underway, it is now being reported that Matthew Fox ("Lost") and Ed Harris will not be starring in the zombie apocalypse feature World War Z. Fox is said to have departed...

Every day, every hour, this very minute, perhaps, Casting Tidbits attempt to penetrate this castle's walls. But in the end, their greatest weapon... is you. First up, though we previously heard Woody Harrelson had been offered the role, Deadline reports Wes Bentley will play Head Gamemaker Seneca Crane, the man who created the brutal competition within the adaptation of The Hunger Games which pits teens from 12 districts in a televised battle to the death. Many young newcomers have been cast in the film, but Bentley is one of the few adults cast so far along with Elizabeth Banks taking a role as well. More casting below! Second, Deadline reports Cameron Diaz will star in an adaptation of the how-to-book What to Expect When You're Expecting. Kirk Jones (Waking Ned Devine, Everybody's Fine) is directing the film which is being crafted as a romantic comedy in the same vein as ...

Italian filmmaker Vittorio Cecchi Gori has been awarded more than $14 million (£8.75 million) in damages after winning a longrunning legal battle against 300 producer Gianna Nunnari.
The court war stems back to May 2008, when Nunnari served as president of the Rome-based Cecchi Gori Pictures, while also heading up his own firm in Los Angeles, titled Hollywood Gang Productions.
Nunnari was accused of taking advantage of film opportunities offered to Cecchi Gori and undertaking them as his own via his U.S. company. The projects involved include war epic 300, the Robert De Niro movie Everybody's Fine, and an upcoming film by Martin Scorsese, called Silence.
The case was heard in a bench trial last summer and Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Amy Hogue delivered her decision on Friday, ruling in Cecchi Gori's favour, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Judge Hogue claimed Nunnari breached fiduciary duties and engaged in concealment and constructive fraud, citing his failure to recognise a "conflict of interest". Cecchi Gori was handed interest on top of the $14 million (£8.75 million) damages, boosting the figure to an estimated $18 million (£11.25 million).
Niels Juul, a representative for Cecchi Gori Pictures, says, "I'm very pleased that after two years of litigation, all this hard work has ended and Vittorio can now go back to producing movies."
As part of the ruling, Scorsese will now direct Silence for Cecchi Gori Pictures.
