This is another honorable mention of mine for the show and one of the under the radar episodes. Once again this is another episode from J Michael whom to me always has some of the best stories for the Mastersverse. This one doesn't quite make it but at least comes close.
There are a couple of weak points of the story like I would have liked to of seen more to the tussle with the female Golem creature and She Ra, like seeing a swordfight and some sort of wrestling match, but due to time constraints it couldn't be helped. But the other thing is there is the typical kid in peril, which I never liked as it's one of those cleche's that just need to die though already have; by its nature it's just a lazy motive device for the hero/heroine to exercise their abilities.
Other than that this episode was good as it's basically She-Ra versus Frankenstein or the Golem. It was really just seeing She-Ra fighting something that was an equal match in strength which rarely happens, having her meet her match really makes her struggle a little harder this time around.
But I really like the character arc with the female Golem creature and in a way is the real main protagonist of this story. As we see just as it's received, She-Ra strength it's also received her feelings. From how it looks at a mere bird and we see a slight exercise in reluctance and better judgement in taking orders from Shadow Weaver whom is the real monster in the story, as she sees the Golem as nothing more than a tool/slave than a person.
Will this Golem discover it's humanity in time, you'll have to wait and find out.
Rating: 3 and a half stars.
