The mighty Dragonzord awakens after thousands of years as the Rangers try to break the spell over the Green Ranger once and for all.

Kim confronts the evil Tommy in the Youth Center, but he simply informs her that she and the other Rangers will soon be destroyed. Utilizing his Dragon Dagger's flute mode, the Green Ranger summons forth the ancient Green Dragonzord from Angel Grove bay. It begins to rampage through the city, crushing & blowing up buildings. Zordon's transmission is finally reestablished with this dimension. The Megazord is recovered, and victoriously faces the Dragonzord. The Green Ranger's Sword Of Darkness is destroyed, freeing Tommy from the evil spell. He's disoriented, but regrettable recalls everything he did while evil. The Rangers offer him a place among them, and he gladly accepts. The Dragonzord forms with the Megazord, creating the Dragonzord in Battle Mode. Zordon welcomes Tommy to the team, claiming the 6th Ranger was prophesied.—Anonymous

The rangers are in disbelief over the revelation that new kid Tommy is the evil Green Ranger. Alpha-5 suggests it is likely that Rita cast a spell on him to make him do her bidding. Jason tells the team that they cannot give up, for they must save Tommy as well as the rest of the world. On the moon, Rita celebrates success with her minions, and tells Goldar to prepare to lead the final invasion. Without the Megazord to stop them, they are poised the conquer Earth once and for all. Alpha starts to panic that if the rangers give up, evil will win, Rita will rule Earth, and destroy everything in her wake. His point made, Zack, Kimberly, Billy, and Trini agree to keep fighting. Jason says their first priority should be to find Tommy and try to break Rita's curse. They split up to look for him while Alpha tries to locate Zordon.

At the youth center, Ernie watches the TV, showing that a giant Goldar has already begun to attack Earth, though he is confident that the Power Rangers will stop him. Kim arrives and asks if he's seen Tommy. As a matter of fact, the teen is at the youth gym at that very moment, working out. Kimberly goes to him and quietly confronts him about being the Green Ranger. Tommy immediately drops the act, threatening her, and reveals that he knows she is the Pink Ranger. She begs him to come with her so they can break Rita's spell, but Tommy is committed to serving his empress. He warns her to prepare for her and her friends' destruction. Rita finally gives her champion his final weapon, the Dragon Dagger, which can also be used as a flute. With it, he summons his own zord, the Dragon Zord, which rises from it's hiding place under the sea, and under Tommy's command, starts dealing destruction to everything it sees. Alpha is finally able to find a workaround in the computer, and starts a massive sweep to find Zordon. Kim goes to find the other rangers and tell them about her encounter with Tommy, including that he knows their secret identities. Trini runs up and tells them that a giant monster is attacking the Business District. They morph and go to find it, Tommy ordering it to kill them. The Dragon Zord's arsenal is formidable, blasting the rangers off the roof of a building with explosive missiles. They try to get through to Tommy, but Rita's conditioning is too strong. Without their zords, they are powerless to stop his wave of chaos.

At the command center, Alpha-5 is finally able to restore Zordon to his proper place. Zordon tells him that the rangers need to destroy the Sword of Darkness to break the spell over Tommy. He is also able to use his power to bring back the Dino Zords, and teleports the rangers into their respective beasts. Rita is furious, and Jason takes the Tyrannosaurus Zord to fight the Dragon Zord directly. The Red Ranger is able to stun the Dragon Zord long enough for the rest of the team to get to him and form the Megazord. The newly restored Megazord makes short work of Dragon Zord, and disables it. The Red Ranger goes down to battle the Green Ranger one-on-one. The sword and dagger make Tommy a dangerous enemy, but Jason is eventually able to knock the sword out of the Green Ranger's hand. Before he can recover, The Red Ranger disintegrates the Sword of Darkness. The spell is broken, and Tommy demorphs. The other rangers join Jason, and they demorph as Jason goes to help Tommy. Tommy is horrified at the things he's done under Rita's curse, but Jason tells him it was not his fault. He tells Tommy that he alone is in control of the Green Ranger power now, and asks him to join their team. Tommy is at first unsure that he can be trusted, but the others tell him that together, they can stop Rita. He accepts their invitation, and the group all morph as a single unit. Zordon and Alpha celebrate the sixth ranger finally uniting with the Power Rangers. He contacts the team, and tells Tommy how to use the Dragon Flute to control the Dragon Zord and combine it with the Mastodon, Triceratops, and Saber-Tooth Tiger Zords to create the Mega Dragon Zord. Rita is in rage over her defeat, and Goldar swears vengeance on the Power Rangers.

Later, in the command center, the rangers catch up with Zordon. He commends Alpha on his performance during the crisis, and calls Tommy forward to take the Power Ranger oath. Tommy agrees, and Billy presents him with his own communicator. Tommy takes his place on the team, and the six Power Rangers celebrate their victory, and their new friend.
