The imaginary stock, Shominy, has the same name as the imaginary game that Doug invents (he only gets as far as coming up with a name for the game) in another episode.

Goofs
They invest $3,000... then it doubles to $6,000. The next day, Carrie show him that it is now $4,000. Doug then exclaims, "that's less than half what we invested!". Actually, it's $1,000 MORE than they invested. The writers must have forgotten that they invested $3,000 originally.
