Jackie Tyler: I said there were ghosts, but that's not fair. Why him?
Pete Tyler: I'm not a ghost.
Jackie Tyler: But you're dead. You died 20 years ago Pete.
The Doctor: It's Pete from a different universe. There are parallel worlds, Jackie. Every single decision you make creates a parallel existence, a different dimension where...
Jackie Tyler: Oh you can shut up.
[to Pete]
Jackie Tyler: You look old.
Pete Tyler: You don't.
Jackie Tyler: How could you be standing there?
Pete Tyler: I just got lucky. I lived my life. You were left on your own. You didn't marry again, or...?
Jackie Tyler: There was never anyone else. Twenty years though, look at me, I never left that flat. Did nothing with myself.
Pete Tyler: You brought her up. Rose Tyler. It's not bad.
Jackie Tyler: Yeah.
Pete Tyler: In my world it worked. All those daft little plans of mine, it worked. Made me rich.
Jackie Tyler: I don't care about that.
[pause]
Jackie Tyler: How rich?
Pete Tyler: Very.
Jackie Tyler: I don't care about that.
[pause]
Jackie Tyler: How very?
Pete Tyler: Thing is though, Jacks, you're not my wife, I'm sorry but you're not. I mean, we both, it's just sort of... oh come here!
[They run toward each other and embrace]

Jackie Tyler: [Pete stops her from following Rose after she travels back to be with the Doctor] But I've got to go back.
Pete Tyler: The Doctor said every time we used one of these, it damages the whole world. Now that's it!
Jackie Tyler: She's your daughter.
Pete Tyler: She's your daughter, not mine. That's an order.
[takes Mickey's button off him and walks away]
Jackie Tyler: Mickey, tell him. Tell him, Mickey!
[Mickey remains silent]
Jackie Tyler: Mickey!

Rose Tyler: [hammers the wall of Parallel Torchwood after the Doctor seals the breach] TAKE ME BACK! Take me back.
[starts crying]
Rose Tyler: Take me back.
[Pete takes his button off from around his neck and looks at it]
Pete Tyler: It stopped working. He did it. He closed the breach.
Rose Tyler: [sobs] No!
[the Doctor walks up to the wall in his universe, and places his hand and the side of his face against it, and Rose does the same in the parallel universe, as if they're sensing each other's presence. After a long while, the Doctor slowly removes his face and hand from his side of the wall, and Rose, sensing that he isn't there does the same on her side. Then the Doctor, his expression filled with sadness and loneliness, turns and walks away from the wall. In the parallel Torchwood, Rose, leaning against the wall, tearfully looks toward Pete, Jackie and Mickey who look sympathetically at her at a loss for words. After a while, Rose, finally summoning her courage, turns and walks away from the wall]

Pete Tyler: [shows the Doctor his world outside the parallel Torchwood Tower window] Look at it. A world at peace. They're calling this "The Golden Age".
The Doctor: Who's the president then?
Pete Tyler: A woman called "Harriet Jones".
The Doctor: [exhales sharply] I'd keep an eye on her.
Pete Tyler: But it's a lie. Temperatures have risen by two degrees in the past six months. The ice caps are melting. They're saying all this is gonna be flooded. That's not just global warming, is it?
The Doctor: No.
Pete Tyler: It's the breach.
The Doctor: [irked] I've been trying to tell you - travel between parallel worlds is impossible. Then the Daleks break down the walls with the sphere...
Pete Tyler: Daleks?
The Doctor: Then the Cybermen travelled across,
[turns to Jake]
The Doctor: then you lot - those disks - every time you jump from one reality to another, you rip a hole in the universe.
[to Pete]
The Doctor: This planet is starting to boil. Keep going and BOTH worlds will fall into the Void.

Jake Simmonds: [to his team] Defend this room. Chrissie, monitor communications.
[the Doctor puts on his 3D glasses]
Jake Simmonds: Kill one Cyber-Leader, and they just download into another. Move!
[the team runs off, leaving Jake with the Doctor]
The Doctor: You can't just-- just-- just HOP from one world to another. You CAN'T.
Jake Simmonds: We just did. With these.
[tosses the Doctor a yellow button disk that can be worn around the neck]
The Doctor: But that's impossible. You can't have this sort of technology.
Jake Simmonds: We've got our own version of Torchwood. They developed it. Do you wanna come and see?
[goes to press his button]
The Doctor: [reaches out his arm] No!
[Jake presses his button and transports him and the Doctor to the parallel world's Torchwood Rift chamber]
Jake Simmonds: Parallel Earth - parallel Torchwood. Except we found out what the institute was doing and the people's republic took control.
The Doctor: I've gotta get back. Rose is in danger. And her mother.
[Pete Tyler walks in with two soldiers]
Pete Tyler: That'd be Jackie.
[the Doctor looks at Pete in surprise]
Pete Tyler: My wife in a parallel universe. And as for you, Doctor, at least this time I know who you are.
The Doctor: [runs over to Pete] Right, yes, fine, hooray. But I've gotta get back. Right now.
Pete Tyler: No, you're not in charge here. This is our world, not yours. And you're gonna listen for once.
