    Kevin and the piano

Perhaps a weaker episode, but that's only because the standard has been so high in S2.

I think we can all relate to Kevin's feelings in this episode.

    It's all wonderfully played.

HOW does this show make me feel so much?!

It's strange. I felt bored through a lot of this episode, as the plot was pretty slow and bare-bones... Then at the end, I felt like I had been punched in the gut.

I'm sure this is an episode I disliked as a kid, but as an adult, it's truly haunting. We all have our version of piano lessons, don't we? It's painful to look back at the things we gave up on because we thought we weren't good enough. Ultimately, that's the magic of The Wonder Years. These are universal experiences, no matter the generation.

The rehearsal montage where we see Kevin's whole family appreciate his playing is a beautiful and understated scene that will stick with me.

Narrator: When you're a little kid, you're a little bit of everything: Artist, Scientist, Athlete, Scholar. Sometimes it seems like growing up is a process of giving those things up, one by one. I guess we all have one thing we regret giving up; one thing we really miss - that we gave up because we were too lazy, or because we couldn't stick it out, or because we were afraid.
