Angela Lansbury was starring in the Broadway hit 'Mame', at the Winter Garden Theatre, since May. Lansbury left the production on March 30, 1968, to take the show on a limited US tour. The musical would ultimately run for 1,508 performances, closing at the Broadway Theatre on January 03, 1970.
Guest panelist Pia Lindström, the first child of actress Ingrid Bergman, was at that time a reporter for KGO-TV (ABC Channel 7) in San Francisco, CA. Coincidentally, Angela Lansbury's first film role had been in the classic 'Angoscia (1944)', starring Bergman.
Panelist Arlene Francis wore the mask, transformed into a blindfold, she had worn to Truman Capote's 'Black and White Ball' held on November 28, 1966. The masquerade ball was described as "a pinnacle of New York's social history".
