"Epstein's Term Paper" marked the third appearance of Charles Fleischer as New Utrecht tough Carvelli, the second for his sidekick Murray (Bob Harcum). This time Carvelli's in the business of selling term papers at $5 apiece, Epstein buying four guaranteed to earn a passing grade, one for each Sweathog. Problem is, Kotter recognizes Juan's paper as the same one that he himself turned in as a remedial Sweathog eleven years before. Juan's priceless reaction to finding that his term paper had already been handed in by Kotter: "it's a small world isn't it?" This time he and Epstein do Charlie Chan and number one son: "gee Pop, you know everything!" (Old Chinese Proverb: "man who try to pull wool over eyes wind up with sheep on face!"). Carvelli's term paper business dries up as fast as it started, his next appearance coming in "Class Encounters of the Carvelli Kind."
