Politics Down-And-Dirty
ccthemovieman-12 October 2006
Good acting and an intense, involving story make this a very interesting episode. The only thing I didn't like was the ending. Our hero, Josh Randal,l performs an selfless act but a lying, power-hungry woman gets away with something.

This episode shows how dirty political races are nothing new. This one is very bad as a candidate kills his own brother just to get votes in the battle for mayor of a town. He's corrupt as can be, even wanted in another state for murder, but he seems to have the upper hand on his opponent, "Ned Easter," an old friend of Josh Randall.

Josh tries to help with in the election but the whole thing turns uglier and uglier as it goes on. Saying more would ruin it, so I'll stop here, except to give a plug to Bethel Leslie, Wayne Morris and DeForest Kelley for their guest performances.

Convoluted but Exciting Episode

Warning: Spoilers
I popped in a random Wanted Dead Or Alive episode and was shocked and happy to see in the intro that it had Deforest Kelly (Bones from Star Trek) and Wayne Morris (from Paths Of Glory and a real life WW2 air ace! Right before he had a heart attack and died). I have this series and Have Gun Will Travel and consider this a weaker series to watch but as big a lover of the Steve McQueen mystique as I am I wanted to give it another try. Well, I'm not saying that I was not entertained but damn, for a 30 minute episode it sure did have a lot of plot twists and a lot of resolution! Deforest dies quick, and Wayne Morris holds his own well to the end. It's a good WDOA episode but it didn't reinforce my strength in it's watch ability. 7 of 10 to see these three together in one bit. Don't have much of a clue as to the original motivation for him coming to town but that's 50's TV for ya!

Enjoyable

I enjoyed this episode. Wayne Morris was a smooth actor and that's only the tip of the iceberg. He was a decorated war hero with Hutzpah. Look up his bio...amazing!

not too good

The bounty hunter is being hunted by wayne morris, typical bad guy that died the year this series was made ... he was as nasty in person as in this episode ... bethel leslie and steve mcqueen are excellent as always ... cheap scheming liars always get their rewards in hell ..
