Living life back then before all this modern technology seemed more special then it is now. You appreciated everything you owned, and never took anything for granted. People and their company meant so much more to each other back then.

This episode aired on December 14 1972 with this opening. Waltons Mountain had been in our family for generations, a silent witness to all the bright and wonderful days I knew as a boy. If mountains remember events then, surely, it must treasure, as I do, the memory of that day during the Depression when my sister, Mary Ellen, got into a fight after school and the events that followed. Once again, the show starts with the beautiful sites of Waltons Mountain and it reminds of the mountain above the hog farm that I worked on for years. The trees and the wildlife that ran across the mountain and when you were up there it's was so quite and peaceful that you never wanted to leave. Down at the bottom of the mountain Mary Ellen is in yet another after school fight, this time defending Jim Bob. While sitting at the table, Olivia talk about how she wished that she had a laundry machine. While eating, John Boy remembers the washing machine that Ike had for sale in his store. Therefore, the next day, John Boy goes down to ask Ike the price for the machine. After getting the price that he needs, now he needs to find a job and he gets one with none other then the Baldwin Sisters. When John Boy gets to the Baldwin house, the Sisters introduce him to there Cousin Homer Baldwin. Homer tells the sisters that it's been so long since he's seen the family that the sisters decide to have a family reunion. The next day John Boy gets the family truck so he can haul supplies from Ike store to Baldwin sister's house. Since John Boy didn't have a licenses Grandpa goes with him so there no trouble with the law. Later that evening the family is sitting around the table but there's no sign of Grandpa or John Boy who are still over at the Baldwin Sisters. Homer decided to take the sisters to a talking picture show but when they get ready to leave his car won't start. Therefore, Grandpa decides that he and John Boy will take Homer and the Baldwin Sisters to Charlottesville. However right before John Boy left the Baldwin Sisters, Cousin Homer put a suitcase in the back of the truck that sounded like glass. The question is what was in the case and what was Homer going to do with it? I like this episode because of the title and the story line so i give this episode 8 weasel stars.
