Morbid fun.

Tom has been ill in the Night, a suspected hear attack, he's taken to hospital where only a concerned Diana waits, his sudden decline in health leaves him feeling very low.

Painfully funny at times despite the obviously grim subject matter. At one stage it really feels as if Tom doesn't have long to wait at all to meet his maker, but fortunately Diana is on hand. There are some very funny scenes, the final one with the painting is great, but the best has to be Diana's sarcastic reply to Jayne as they discuss her painting.

Diana's concern for Tom is nice, she doesn't seem to be a character that likes many people, but her concern for Tom is touching, the pair worked so well together.

It's no wonder it went on for five series, it's class. 8/10

Tom and Diana, uncharacteristically, seem to switch roles.

Normally on "Waiting for God", Tom is a daffy but very optimistic guy...and Diana is a grouchy old lady. But here, uncharacteristically, there is a switch in their roles.

It all begins with Tom having a heart attack and going to the hospital. Following it, he's rather morbid and talks about death. In fact, he decides that he might as well off himself and tells everyone he's planning on going on Tuesday. While Diana clearly is the type to endorse suicide, she decides that Tom is worth saving and she'd be lonely without him...so she concocts a plan to get him to change his mind. And, as usual, Diana is very successful and by the end, all is right at Bayview.

This is a pretty good episode, although it is a bit darker than usual. Well worth seeing and clever.
