Who's the Boss?

From all appearances, it would seem that Lyndon Baines Johnson was Chief Yellow Cloud of the Arapaho before becoming president.

Bring Back The Buffalo
bkoganbing28 September 2008
The Wagon Train's journey west finds them in Arapahoe country where scout Robert Horton comes upon James Whitmore and his son Scott Marlowe. Whitmore plays the title role in The Gabe Carswell Story, a legendary frontier mountain man who married into the Arapahoe tribe and has lived with them almost 20 years.

But the Arapahoe have not seen the buffalo this season and the tribe is starving. That means war and Whitmore wants out. He'd like to join the train with Marlowe, but Marlowe wants nothing to do with the whites. When they join the train, some of the travelers don't give him any good reason to change his opinion.

Whitmore played frontier types before in The Last Frontier and would essay another part like Gabe Carswell in Chuka. He fits into the role quite nicely. Thomas Browne Henry plays the Arapahoe chief and Frank DeKova plays the warlike medicine man, a far cry from Chief Wild Eagle of the Hekawis.
