The Sheriff comes in to Judge Garth's office to question Karl Rilke and he and the Judge inform Rilke of his rights, which are similar to the Miranda decision. The Miranda decision didn't occur until 1966, some 70 years or so after this episode is staged. These rights weren't required and were never discussed during any criminal investigation prior.
At the beginning of the episode, Betsy and Trampass are racing up a mountain. When they reach the neighbor's farm, the horses should have been hot and sweaty. However, the horses aren't hot at all. If the horses had been hot, they should have been cooled off before Trampass gave them water.
