In 1932, Eliot Ness needs to travel to Washington D. C. and assigns Agent Martin Flaherty to replace him and together with Agent William Youngfellow, keep the mobster boss George 'Bugs' Moran under 24/7 surveillance since he is the second most wanted gangster from Illinois. Meanwhile, Moran orders his gangsters to kidnap the boy Larry Halloran Jr. At school. Then Moran and his right-hand head to the truckers' union to meet the president, the honest Lawrence Halloran, to demand that they are assigned vice-present and executive secretary respectively and control the syndicate. Lawrence is forced to accept the arrangement and Larry returns home. Lawrence looks for Agent Flaherty seeking for help, but he says that kidnapping is not a federal offense and he can not arrest Moran. Lawrence seeks out his enemy Joe Patterson to get a contract and reinforce his union, but Patterson denies and his men beat Lawrence, breaking his arm and three ribs. When his son Tom Patterson is kidnapped by Moran, The Untouchables can act since Joe Patterson's trucks work interstate. Will they be able to rescue Tom Petterson and arrest Moran?
"The George 'Bugs' Moran Story" is another full of action episode of "The Untouchables". If it fictional or not, it does not matter since it is not proposed to be a documentary, but a police story with the hero Eliot Ness. The episode is excellent, but the abrupt ending ruins the conclusion. My vote is seven.
Title (Brazil): "O Sindicato do Crime" ("The Crime Syndicate")
