In his introduction to "New Stories from the Twilight Zone", the series' executive story consultant Alan Brennert admitted that he thought that his script for "Healer" was so badly directed and acted that he took his name off of it. It is credited to Michael Bryant. He later rewrote "Healer" as an expanded short story.
In the segment "Children's Zoo", late director Wes Craven appears as the man who angrily threatens Debbie.
"Kentucky Rye" is not syndicated.
Although the premise of "Children's Zoo" is similar to The Bewitchin' Pool (1964), an important difference is that little Debbie Cunningham in "Children's Zoo" will live her new life in the "real world" and one day be an adult woman whereas young Jeb and Sport in "The Bewitchin' Pool" escape to Aunt T.'s magical land and will remain children for eternity.
"Children's Zoo" has no narration, at either the beginning or end. "Kentucky Rye" has no opening narration.
