J-Roc shines
Seras1112318 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
J-Roc's best episode yet. It's nice to see an episode finally be dedicated to our favorite white rapper. Instead of the group just committing crimes, we get a more occasional character episode. And the twist about J-Roc thinking he's black is awesome and left field. It somehow tops nonsense in a mockumentary series that seldom makes any.

Warning: Spoilers
J-Roc is working on his new music video "Microphone Assassin". Julian starts selling J-Roc CD's at the flee market and they sell a bunch of them. With the money the made from the CD's, Julian decides to reinvest it into a rap concert.

Lahey tells him no concert in the park, that it needs to be on owned property. Julian plans to have the concert on top of J-Roc's mom's trailer. They go to visit him and they catch him "pulling his goalie" as Bubbles puts it. Cory and Trevor see through the window and tell everyone. J-Roc is discouraged and Julian reassures he's a rap star and the concert is going to happen.

Lahey and Randy call up one of the featured artists on J-Roc's CD known as Detroit Velvet Smooth. They tell him J-Roc has been making lots of money using his music without permission.

The concert has free liquor which draws in a crowd. DVS shows up and fires shots in the air to get J-Roc's attention. He asks J-Roc if he's black and he says yes. DVS calls him a punk and J-Roc goes inside to change. Julian gives DVS some money for his troubles and asks if he can talk to J-Roc.

J-Roc is in his room dressed in a rainbow shirt and admits to his mom that he's white. DVS talks to him and tells him his raps are tight and to get back on stage. They get back to the concert and J-Roc makes a new friend.

J-Roc has an identity crisis when his blackness is questioned. DVS tells him there's more to being black than listening to NWA. The title of the episode is "Who's the Microphone Assassin?" We hear Cory and Trevor rap and they clearly aren't. Bubbles on the other hand, throws down on the beat.
