When the group learns shortly thereafter who the actual owner of the undergarments are toward the end of the segment; it elicited one of the all-time classic responses in sitcom history from Kelso and Fez.
- Eric ends up lab partners with a girl who seems to be attracted to him more than enough. He wonders why Donna's so apathetic towards the situation while she actually starts to worry. Further in the episode, she finds a girls panties in Eric's car. She's determined to figure out whose they are, but the answer to the question is far from what she suspected and very unpleasant.—Candice Davis
- The whole basement bunch meanly joins in with the school-wide ridiculing of poor Kelso, who made a painful fall in the canteen (when he slipped on some mashed potatoes) hurting the inside of his soiled trousers, constantly calling him 'Tater Nuts'. Even Laurie gets in on the act.
Eric worries only about Donna's expected jealousy when he is seen in the diner with his lab partner, school easy girl Shelly (Marnette Patterson). Shelly had invited Eric to study at her parent's house, who were out of town. Kelso explains that Shelly hitting on Eric is a great thing as that could mean a wrestling match between Shelly and Donna, which would be totally hot. Eric imagines in his head that Donna and Shelly are mud wrestling over him, and he agrees with Kelso that it would be totally hot.
But Eric doesn't want to offend Donna and refuses to go to Shelly's house. Donna is confidently cool about it and Eric is offended that Donna doesn't think that an easy girl like Shelly would go after Eric, as she could sleep with anyone at the school. The guys tell Eric that this is an all clear from Donna that Eric can cheat on her with Shelly. Eric tries to make Donna jealous by saying that he has to study with Shelly late night at the library. And that she won't be wearing a bra.
Jackie's assurance Eric is too girlish to cheat on her (Jackie thinks of Eric as a really masculine girl, kind of like Donna) no longer holds when panties are found in Eric's car... Donna goes bat bonkers and wants to find out whose panties it is. Jackie is ruled out as she claims that she does not wear pink panties and so are Hyde and Fez, as they didn't bring any girls. Kelso's detective work theorizes, that the panties belong to a lady between ages of 16 and 38, 5 figure income, within a 4-mile radius and very popular with the gentlemen.
Donna is furious at Eric and wants to beat him physically. She believes that this was not Eric's first time cheating on her and that there were other panties. As soon as she leaves to find Eric, Midge walks in and tells Jackie that those were her panties in the Vista Cruiser. Donna confronts Eric and Shelly at the diner about the panties. Shelly walks off dumping Eric. Just then Midge walks in and admits that those are her panties and that she was having sex in the cruiser with Bob. This pops the bubble of Kelso and Fez, who were thinking of Eric as GOD, when they thought that he laid Midge... Donna admits that Eric is hot enough to get Shelly.
Meanwhile Kitty has found out about Red's heart condition. Red's blood pressure was very high during a routine medical check-up. She puts him on a strict fat- and fun-less diet (no meat, no cheese and no beer), funny for the kids until... Red convinces Kitty that if the food is supposedly good, then the kids should have the same as him.
