What we have here is a failure to communicate

Eddie Albert is a good actor who is really convincing as a father devoted to his daughter. You certainly have sympathy for his plight with this script. Barbara Stuart, who plays his wife, really has very little to do in the script. She is better known as the actress who played Bunny on Gomer Pyle USMC. In fact, this character is kind of similar to the one she played on that show as a girlfriend. I wonder if her scenes were used in the audition tape for GP:USMC?
