Not A Bad Day
claudio_carvalho9 June 2015
Hammond is sending people to Alpha Site to build a colony there in case of destruction of Earth. Meanwhile the missiles do not penetrate the Goa'uld shields and General Hammond assumes the SGC again. Bra'tac teams up with the SG-1 and they assume the bridge; however Daniel is seriously wounded and asks Jack to be left behind since the group must blow up both spacecrafts. They head Klorel's ship in the direction of Apophis'ship, and they use two small ships to leave the spacecraft. Meanwhile Daniel foes to the sarcophagus to recover his injuries. Will their plan work?

"The Serpent's Lair" is a great conclusion for Season 1. Now it seems that the Apophis has been destroyed and Earth is free of this powerful enemy. In the end, it was not a bad day for the SG-1. My vote is nine.

That was a close one

Good storyline development and high production value. The sets, costuming, and effects worked well and felt authentic. Bittersweet ending, but still some good things going on.

great opening of season two

Warning: Spoilers
Season two picks in were season one stopped which is normal because it was an open ending at season one. But this episode is so great and finally has something to do with science-fiction.

The opening of season two takes you back to the Goa'uld attack on earth. SG-1 is taken prisoner but Teal'c his mentor, Bra'tac, is out there to rescue SG-1 and help them to destroy the mother ships to save earth. Still on earth they are making mankind ready to bring them to an Alpha site to be sure that mankind survives. Of course the whole stargate project is under fire by the government but towards the end it comes clear that SG-1 saved earth and the existence of SG-1 is secured.

This episode is really great and has a lot of humour coming from Colonel Jack. There are fight scene's going on that really hurt Daniel and explosions are also included. Pure Sci-Fi with great entertainment.

Yeah, baby!

Just letting you know, I have been a fan of this show since it premiered in the 1990s. It's the previous episode, Within the Serpent's Grasp, and particularly this episode, The Serpent's Lair, that firmly cemented Stargate SG-1 as a favorite of mine. There's a really satisfying moment when Hammond shuts down Samuels (and without punching him in his face!). The banter and chemistry between Bra'tac (133 years young!!) and Jack is priceless. Characters we came to really care about during season 1 are in peril, oh hell, it's all of Earth that's in peril. This episode offers humor, heart, and action that moves swiftly. It makes us want to look forward to the following episodes...
