Leaning How to Fight for Freedom
claudio_carvalho27 November 2016
While monitoring his Unas friend Chaka, Daniel sees a group of men capturing him. The SG-1 is assigned to rescue Chaka and Daniel and Jack goes to a town where the Unas are slaves while Sam and Teal'c cover them. A man called Burrock is the owner of the Unas and demands two Unas to trade by Chaka. Daniel and Jack tries to release Chaka during the night and they are arrested by Burrock and his men. Now Sam and Teal'c wait for an order from Jack to rescue Daniel and him since it will be not possible with no casualties from the residents as Jack wants. What will be his decision?

"Beast of Burden" is a strange and incoherent episode of "Stargate SG-1". Jack tells that he does not want to interfere with the culture of the alien civilization or kill innocent people. However her tries to rescue Chaka and practically initiates a revolution when Chaka and his partner learn how to use the Goa'uld weapons. My vote is seven.

The main quartet characters of Stargate SG-1 are carried ultra-dimensional wormhole across the Stargate portal in a primitive human planet track down Unas Daniel's friend Chaka who already spoke some words at Unas language enough to understand such complex language, just arriving there Daniel figures out that Chaka already was seized by a local hunter Burrock (Larry Drake) to use be worn as human's slaves, aware Col. Jack O'neill spells out no native inhabitants should be kill or wounded whatsoever.

According the own Burrock explained that in the recent past the Unas ruled the planets, thus treating the human beings as slaves them, everything changes when Burrock manages the control of the Stargate he goes through this time warp got several weapon which Teal'c used to, aftermaths the plight is over, now the human race overpowers through newest weapons.

Daniel tries make a deal with the wary Burrock, Chaka must be free otherwise his advanced people can take drastic measures, the adamant Burrock agrees release Chaka in exchange of two Unas from another place due the recurrence of Una's sexual relationship among them is utterly detrimental due inbreeding.

Col. Jack didn't envisages a fair agreement without the shedding of blood agrees, however the wise Chaka perceives it wasn't enough, he wants all Unas free or nothing, the episode asserts that wasn't in-between dealing with slavery, even with the beasts!!

Thanks for reading.

For freedom!

Small scale but decent episode, bringing back an old character in a new situation. Good creature effects and good acting. Storyline is a bit "been done".

One of the best episodes

I really enjoyed this one. I really like the story arc of Chakka (Daniel's Unas friend). It addresses slavery and racism. I think it's quite poignant.
