Guest star Guy Rolfe played Count Oga, the main antagonist in Snow White and the Three Stooges (1961), a part for which Martin Landau had auditioned.
The music soundtrack for this episode was made up of cues from previous episodes with the exception of a library track, "How Beautiful is Night" by Robert Farnon, in the first night scene around the campfire.
According to comments Martin Landau had scribbled on his script, he believed Koenig had too harsh an attitude toward Magus in every scene prior to arriving at the planet.
Originally, instead of lizards, the large creatures in the caves were to be composed of stop-motion effects, but they proved to be too time-consuming and beyond budget (a Season One episode may have managed this).
In the US, the last episode of Season Two (week #52) should've been The Taybor (1976) (the fourth episode in airing order), but the distributors skipped it in favor of "New Adam New Eve" (the next one in line) to end the series on a stronger note.
