The second episode of the "Meteor Shower Trilogy", also first episode to feature Butters speaking

The meteor shower episodes where three episodes during season 3 of South Park which all told the different story of one night during a meteor shower from the points of view of all the boys(sort of like the movie "Cant Hardly Wait").The episode "Cat Orgy" was from Cartman's point of view. This episode "Two guys naked in a hot tub" is from Stan's point of view. The parents could not find a babysitter for Stan, so they had to bring him to the meteor shower party.Mr.Mackey who hosts the meteor shower sends Stan to the basement to play with the other kids. The other kids are the school nerds Pip, this other younger kid and Butters.Butters would be a prominent character in later episodes. He has appeared before but this episode marks his speaking debut. The boys find out that the ATF, thinks the party is a suicidal religious cult and they have to stop them from killing them all.Meanwhile, Stan's father and Kyle's father both talk about experimentation and watch each other masturbate in a hot tub.Stan's dad is now worried everyone will think he is gay and shy's away from Kyle's dad. This is a good entry in the meteor shower trilogy and overall a good episode.

Quite important

Warning: Spoilers
Butters is my favorite "South Park" character and he had in fact appeared since the beginning of the show. This is apparently the first episode he actually talked, as he was just an extra before. I do believe he said, "Me too" in "Roger Ebert Should Lay Off The Fatty Foods". Maybe that was just someone else? When I first heard his voice here, he sounded a little different. It's funny how someone mentions that they heard Ricky Martin was gay, when he would later in fact be revealed to be so.

This show is so topical it makes jokes about stuff before they even happen! Butters is shown in the basement with Pip and a little kid named Dougie. The creators said Butters and Pip both appearing was redundant, so it's great to see them together. There's this great scene at the end where the army accidentally fires their main weapon. It ends up destroying a house causing bits of the house to destroy another house and so on and so on. I had to rewatch it to make sure I got the joke. ****
