This episode is a brilliant satire against censorship, and the over dramatization of "bad words". Matt and Trey are geniuses
I think this episode was an important event in television history. It was not the first time the word s**t was used on TV, but it was definitely the most times it was used. There is a counter in the episode, and according to it, the word s**t is uttered 162 times in this 22min episode...uncensored which is new for South Park. The episode is about this show called "Cop Drama" which is supposed to use the word s**t.The word then becomes acceptable to use.People also seem to be dying, by throwing up their intestines. The boys think it's because of the word. With the help of Chef, they check it out and find that the word caused the black plague. This is an interesting and history-making south park episode!
I miss this side of South Park: Episodes like his managed to be clever and satirical, without having to rely on "topical" themes, and the way in which a seemingly mundane event (I do remember the time when it still was big deal having more explicit content on cable TV shows) escalates into a big , totally unexpected adventure was the kind of stuff that made me love this series.

- TriviaThe original airdate title for this episode was "Cartman Says...", as Cartman was the first person to say "shit" in this episode.
- GoofsThe show counts 162 times the word "shit" is used, however, the counter at the bottom counts the TV executive taking a breath when he repeats the word numerous times. Thus, technically the count should be 161.
- Quotes
Mr. Garrison: Now when I want you to hand in your work, I'll say, "Hand in your shit".
Filmore Anderson: What about, "I have to take a shit"?
Mr. Garrison: No, Fillmore. You can say, "I have to poop and shit", or, "Oh, shit, I have to poop", but not "I have to take a shit".
