    Good and thoughtful episode

Under the watchful eye of his supremo Oscar Goldman (Richard Anderson ), Steve Austin (Lee Majors) investigates the case of a crashed space capsule containing a very strange cargo.

Inside the capsule, scientist David Tate experiments in space with a cell regeneration serum designed to awaken cryogenically frozen patients, he is accidentally injected with too much serum. When the space capsule crashes, he begins terrorizing the countryside and Steve must hunt him down.

This episode touches upon the lengths scientists will go to achieve something and that many errors can occur before it comes to fruition - in this case the error occurs in a scientist who takes too much cell regeneration serum and goes berserk, breaks free from his capsule, traipses around, growling like he's the Incredible Hulk without being green ( he looks more like Grizzly Adams), scares the campers, riles up the sheriff and has a tense showdown with the Bionic Man. Much sympathy is shown by Austin to the Serum Man as he was an experiment too.

    Experiment Gone Awry

Two astronauts called David Tate(played by Mike Farrell) and Nicole Simmons(played by Joan Darling) are engaged in an OSI experimental cell regeneration project while in suspended animation. Unfortunately, their capsule crashes, leading to an overdose of the serum given to David, causing him to revert to a primitive state with super-human strength. Steve Austin(Lee Majors) is sent in along with Dr. Rudy Wells(Alan Oppenheimer) to investigate and solve the problem, while trying to prevent angry locals from killing David before he is cured...assuming of course he can. Interesting if thin episode doesn't really amount to much, despite it's potential.

    Good

100% better than todays tv crap. Nobody knows how to write anything but sex and murder junk.

    • Trivia
Steve and Nicole are searching for David Tate (Mike Farrell) near a lake. They are in the exact spot where Andy and Opie Taylor are walking to Myers Lake to go fishing in the opening of The Andy Griffith Show.
    • Goofs
Both David and Steve were thoroughly soaked from tussling in the water, yet when Steve helps David shortly afterwards, Steve's clothes are dry.
    • Quotes

Col. Steve Austin: What's in the little black box?

Dr. Rudy Wells: [Rudy is clearly uncomfortable] How've you been, Steve? I called you to come to a party that we were having at the lab last week but Oscar's office said you were busy.

Col. Steve Austin: You know, doc, you haven't changed a bit. Even when you're faking, your bedside manner is terrible.
