The kind of episode that will leave you breathless.

Warning: Spoilers
Writing doesn't come like this anymore. If it does, its few and far between from the consistency that HBO's "Six Feet Under", "The Wire", and "The Soprano's" were able to give us. In this episode, or the episode where "aspirin" becomes a hell of a drug, its the dialogue and the mystic that carries the show. The beginning is perhaps the most devastating death so far, and it really allows for a few characters such as Claire and Nate to have some great scenes. Meanwhile, David finds himself a new guy who is much more new age than he is which leads to countless problems and a great scene with Ruth.

Overall, this has been the best episode yet, it brought back the humor of the pilot and some of the writing was simply brilliant. While Rico was noticeably absent, and the overall plot line didn't take a huge step forward, this episode stands great on its own.

Magical!

A meditative hour on death, coping with death, coping with getting over death, etc. This episode is just one beautiful moment after another. Some ones are rather heartbreaking and tragic tho. But I don't remember loving an episode so much for a long while. This show is so consistent with it's material and every episode is dealt with so much sensitivity and empathy.

This is perhaps one of the most beautiful episodes ever put to television. I don't remember loving a show so much after The Wire and The Sopranos. What a magical yet heartbreaking experience of an hour this was! I really don't have a clue what they have in store for the rest of the episodes but I'm so excited and a lil nervouse hoping they don't ruin this consistency.

A cornerstone at this show

Warning: Spoilers
After reading a review, I decided to start watching this show with some uncertainty, as it seemed to evoke strong reactions from viewers - either love or hate. However, as I reached the 9th episode, I found myself firmly on the side of those who adore it. Six Feet Under is a mesmerizing work of art that somehow manages to draw you in completely. But this particular episode... oh man! It delves into the depths of sorrow and explores the myriad possibilities that can no longer be lived by those who died young.

This episode serves as the cornerstone for the entire family. David, in particular, undergoes a significant transformation. He embraces his true self, saying, "Because I'm a serious guy," and refuses to compromise his principles. Ruth, too, grapples with change and accepts that life has happened to her. But she realizes that she doesn't have to let it define her; she can move forward time and time again. Her conversation with Nathaniel hints at the possibility of her ending up with Nikolai.

Nate and Brenda's interactions in this episode are both humorous and authentic. Brenda's assertion that one can't truly understand until they've experienced it firsthand resonates deeply. I found myself captivated by the episode and utterly enthralled by the show as a whole.
