- The quartet's morning meeting hears counterbalancing news: Charlotte is elated to show her engagement ring from Harry while Carrie, infuriatingly pissed off, is determined not to make the day 'the day she got broke up with a post-it', as Berger chose this excessively succinct medium to beat her to the dumping line.—KGF Vissers
- Berger returns, but then breaks up with Carrie with a Post-It note. She is cranky. Carrie tells the girls that breaking up over the phone is considered bad form, and this is the worst. Miranda says that once a guy broke up with through his doorman. Carrie decides not to confront Berger over his appalling behavior.
Miranda finally loses all her baby-weight and rediscovers her "skinny jeans". She is really proud. The girls go to the opening of a new bar "Bed". Miranda meets Peter (Brent Crawford). Carrie runs into Berger's friend Billy (Michael Showalter). Carrie doesn't want to avoid Billy; else he would tell Berger that she was acting childish. She plans to act normal, clam and classy. Carrie is angry with Berger and tells Billy that Berger was bad in bed. She feels awful because what she said was not even true. Carrie goes back to Billy and says Berger was fantastic in bed but broke up with her on a post-it. Billy defends Berger by saying there is no good way of breaking up with anyone as women tend to get very angry. Carrie goes all psycho on Billy. Carrie says that most women just want an ending to a relationship which is thoughtful and decent and honors what they had together. Carrie says that there are good ways to break up with people and they do not include a post it note.
Miranda has guys fighting over to buy her drinks and she feels nice.
Charlotte decides she wants a small wedding. She feels bad that this is her 2nd wedding. Charlotte decides not to have bridesmaids and the girls are ecstatic. Charlotte hates it that she has found the love of her life and she cannot even celebrate it properly in a big, big way.
Samantha is reluctant to be labeled as Smith's "girlfriend". Samantha tells Jerry that as an upcoming star he should keep himself available. Samantha coaches Jerry that if someone asks, he should say that he is still looking and hasn't found anyone special yet. Jerry follows her instructions and says on TV that he is dating, but nobody special. Even though Samantha had coached Jerry for this specific answer, she is angry at being called "not special".
Carrie wanted to smoke pot after coming out of "Bed". The girls follow a bunch of guys to a place that deals. Samantha gets into trouble when she kisses the boyfriend of another girl at the bar. She does that after she sees Jerry on TV calling her not special. Samantha and Carrie run out of the bar when the girlfriend and her posse chase her out. Samantha gets pot for Carrie outside the bar. As Carrie smokes the joint, she is arrested by NY Police. Miranda tells the cops that she was broke up today on a post it note. Cops let her off by fining her for smoking in a bar. The girls split a bowl of ice cream later that night as it turns to midnight. Charlotte says that everything happens for a reason. She got married to Trey, got divorced and then met Harry her divorce lawyer. Miranda got accidentally pregnant with Steve and had Brady. Something good will come out of the Berge fiasco as well.
