Media helicopters constantly flew over the Universal New York City back lot during the filming of this episode, thinking that they were capturing exclusive images of the final episode being recorded. The final episode was two episodes later.
Jerry (Jerry Seinfeld) uses the alias Kel Varnson in this episode. He previously used it in episode 3:17, "The Boyfriend."
This episode took six days to shoot. Originally it was to be actually shot in New York City, but there was no reasonable way to make it work so that idea was canceled. The show's regular New York City street set at the CBS Radford Studios was too small to accommodate all the vehicles and extras, so it was filmed at the much bigger Universal set instead.
Writer David Mandel and some of the other writers on the show went to see While You Were Sleeping (1995) at the movies. During the scene where Sandra Bullock asked, "Do you know what true love is?," someone in the audience screamed out, "Yes!," which got a big laugh. This is what inspired the scene where George (Jason Alexander) yells, "That's gotta hurt!" during a screening of the fictional film "Blimp."
Mario Joyner plays the role of Lamar (a.k.a. "Maroon Golf") in this episode. In Episode 7.1 The Engagement (1995) he also made an appearance, playing himself. He is a stand-up comedian and good friends with Jerry Seinfeld.
