Good But Young Lucas Sounds Like A 60 Year Old Man

Third season (final season) episode of this submarine series that can be best described as Star Trek: The Next Generation meets Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.

I watched this series on the original 90s run and since then bumped into the odd replay. Until today, season three was not in my replays - boy did something stand out now!

The then 29 year old Lucas (Brandis) is given a script that makes him sound like some wise old 60 year old man! Yes I know, Lucas is a genius, but he is just so different to how he talked in seasons one and two. And frankly, I am not comfortable with the change. I don't remember being bothered by this in the 90s but I was younger then. This is the only season three show I re-watched - was he like this all the time in year three??

Despite some awkward Lucas moments, this hour is fine as is features Jonathan Banks (Scully) being a creep years before his BREAKING BAD days and footage of the submarine Seaquest in danger brings back fond memories of TV's Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1964-68).

In a nutshell - Resurrection is good but not great.
