    Buddies

Jeffrey and Anne argue after he goes back on their dinner plans. Stanley and Helen argue over her wanting new furniture. Stanley leaves for the bar where he finds and sits next to Jeffrey. The two men get drunk together and bond over their wife troubles. Jeffrey begins viewing Stanley as a friend and gives him $200 for a furniture deposit and keys to his car to drive anytime. Stanley gives Jeffrey advice to make up with Anne, and the men go home to make love to their wives. The next morning a hung-over Jeffrey has no recollection of his sudden friendship with Stanley. When he goes to drive to his tennis match, Jeffrey finds his car missing and is forced to take the Roper's junky car. Stanley has taken the car and is picked up by the police for car theft. Jeffrey has also been taken to jail for the violations against the Ropers' car. When the men find themselves together again, in a cell, they're forced to make revelations.
