In the car rental return scene, a wide shot is used to show a white/cream colored Mercedes racing out of the garage. To show the smoking tires, a close up shot is used, but the rear fender shown in the shot belongs to a Mustang, which is obviously not white/cream, nor are the hubcaps the same as shown in the wide shot.
The car that chases the RV while the passenger fires a shotgun is a light blue mid-70's Ford. Later when Rockford uses the RV to push the car off the road, it turns into a late 60's Ford sedan.
After the man who was shot in the parking garage is scooped up and put into the back seat of a light colored Mercedes Benz sedan, a close up of a blue first generation Ford Mustang rear wheel burning rubber is shown. This same clip of a spinning wheel was used in The Mayor's Committee from Deer Lick Falls episode.
Towards the end, when Ginger is trying to get Carl Wronko to pull the RV over, Jim recognizes the man in the back seat as having been at the attempted ransom exchange. However, both ransomers had been wearing masks; Jim never saw their faces.
Note: It was Kalifer whom Rockford had recognized, whom Ginger had kidnapped.

As Jim is pursuing the "Queen of Peru" family to retrieve his barbecue he's using his CB radio to do so. Calling "all Hoosiers" Jim connects with "Sal and Jill" who ask what his "20" is, meaning what is his location. Jim replies with, "Indianapolis". If he truly were in Indianapolis (Indiana) the 4 watt output of a simple CB radio would allow him to communicate within a 20 mile radius, just a bit shy of the nearly 2000 miles between California and Indiana.
The 20 code in this context also applies for where someone is from. The other couple would know he isn't hailing from Indiana and is relaying his current location.

Rockford's grill in all the previous episodes has been a full sized type, not a table-top version.
A character can change the kind of grill he has whenever he wants. That would be like saying he couldn't have a newer car instead of the older he used to have.

At their first meeting, the Wronkos ask if their daughter can use Jim's toilet, since theirs is out of order. In so many previous shots of Jim's trailer, it is shown to be parked right next to a public restroom.
This is something meant as a joke to foreshadow that they would be an enormous headache for Rockford.

When Rockford is awakened at 6:15 in the morning by the RV family, the sun is low in the sky over the water, indicating it is actually late in the afternoon instead of early in the morning.
Early on in this episode Stephen Kalifer tells Rockford he's a Lt. Colonel, later on when Wyner is in uniform he's wearing full Colonel insignia.
The flag hoisted by the National Guard unit commanded by Stephen Kalifer halfway through the episode has only has 48 stars, even though the U.S. had had 50 states (and a 50-star flag) for more than 15 years by the time this episode was filmed. (This may have been intended to show the lack of attention to detail by the "weekend warriors" whom Rockford occasionally mocks in this episode.)
When Jim Rockford is talking on the CB, he doesn't have an antenna on the roof or trunk of his Firebird.
During the final car chase along the highway, right after the second shotgun blast fired by Ginger (Christopher Cary), a shot of the crooks' car shows the shadow of the cameraman atop the vehicle from which the crooks' car was being filmed.
When Rockford goes to the trunk to change his tire after the robbers shot out his tire, the camera re-positions briefly to the bridge and a vehicle is seen for a split second on the right edge of the frame, which is a production vehicle. It's been previously established that the exchange location in the desert was chosen for it being an isolated spot away from people.
Early in the show, Stephen Kalifer identifies himself as a Lieutenant Colonel in the National Guard. When he appears in uniform, he is wearing the rank of a full Colonel.
