Robin Ellis plays Charles Dallas, a junior barrister and ace rugby international.

While taking part in a murder case Dallas finds that both the senior counsel for the prosecution and defence disappear rather suddenly.

Dallas is going out with Milly, the daughter of the defence barrister he was assisting. When Milly goes wandering off, his search leads him to the mansion of Professor Dyne who was a witness for the prosecution. He regards the accused to be sane to face trial.

A courtroom drama becomes something else. At first it is thought that the accused charged for murdering his wife is involved in the disappearance of the barristers. It turns out that the professor is far from sane.

His mansion is an insane asylum with a dungeon, mute butler and guard dogs on the grounds. Professor Dyne has abducted the barristers to conduct experimental surgery and Dallas needs to stop him.

Dallas is someone just caught up in a bizarre situation, when he goes to the nearest police station for help, they think he has escaped from the asylum.

This one is just too uneven. A strange hybrid of courtroom drama, humour and Gothic horror. It was all a bit too silly. Professor Dyne was bizarre when he affirmed his evidence and that in turn made me feel there was something off about him.

Two leading London barristers--Queen's Counsels--disappear during a murder trial, one for the prosecution and one for the defense. Junior defense barrister Charles Dallas searches for his two colleagues, but they are about to undergo the most bizarre of trials themselves.
