Victor McLaglen final acting role before he died, directed by his son Andrew V. McLaglen. He died of a heart attack 30 days after this broadcast on November 7th, 1959. He was 72 and had been a fighter taking on all comers with circuses and wild west shows in Canada, Australia, and the United States for 50 years.
Victor McLaglen's character, Harry Winston, tells the Judge he is 62, but the actor was actually 72.
Victor's father, "Bishop" Andrew McLaglen's, nine sons were reported to be at least six feet four inches and even the one sister, Lily, was six feet three inches. Victor was the 3rd child of the 10 siblings. Victor's son, Andrew V. McLaglen, was also 6'7''.
He really was a fighter. In 1909 he was the first fighter to box newly-crowned heavyweight champion Jack Johnson, whom he fought in a six-round exhibition match in Vancouver (as an exhibition fight, it had no decision). On the "This Is Your Life" for Victor he admitted to getting beat up by Jack Johnson during this fight.
