The story was based on the real life case of D.B. Cooper, who hijacked a Northwest Airlines 727 in November 1971 and escaped by skydiving from the plane's rear stairwell.

Errores
Everyone wears protective gear when they look for the money and when they exam the money at the bank. Nobody is wearing protective gear when they go to the hotel room to check out the dead man and Quincy picks up the half eaten apple. The Agent Frank Parker leading Quincy into the room stated that his people left everything the way it was.

However, the only thing they did before he got there was disinfect the room to render it safe to enter.

Quincy is NOT the angry man on a soap box in this one--making it well worth seeing.

"The Money Plague" was an episode clearly inspired by a real life event. The infamous D.B. Cooper robbery is much like "The Money Plague" and it was written just a few years after Cooper's daring (and insane) plane stunt.

The show begins with the body of a famous hijacker being discovered in the woods. Apparently he'd been dead a very long time--and this explained the man's mysterious disappearance several years earlier. But what ALSO accompanies the body is a bottle of anthrax--a bottle that is accidentally broken when the body is discovered. Now, it's a rush to find those infected as well as the infected ransom money. Using LOTS of investigative and forensic skills, Quincy and Sam dig for the answers.

This is a pretty good episode. However, since by 2013 many have forgotten about Cooper (and his escape from an airliner by parachute!), it seems that it probably would have played a bit better back in 1979. Still, it is intriguing and nice that Quincy is NOT angry or on a soap box during this one--making it slightly better than usual.
