Hauntingly beautiful
This is such a sad episode on so many levels, culminating in Sam's quotation of a beautiful, beautiful poem attributed to Mark Twain, "Warm Summer Sun, just before Sam leaps at the end of the episode.

In reality, Mark Twain adapted this from a poem by Robert Richardson, titled "Annette". It is the epitaph on the headstone of Mr. Twain's beloved daughter, Susy, who passed away from spinal meningitis at only 24.

Not going to give spoilers but can say that if you already interested in Quantum Leap or time traveling this episode is one of more better ones. It's not unusual to find many decent episodes but for me this one ranks up there in top 5. Whenever I watch this one always feel like someone is cutting onions.
