Mike, played by Anthony Edwards, lives in a geodesic dome in a totally germ free environment. He is being treated by Joel for whatever he has. He has to stay in his bubble and be serviced from outside (food, equipment, on and on). We are never told how he can afford this lifestyle. Maggie takes a shine to him; Joel thinks he is a magnificent nutcase who can find any reason to stay the way he is. In the second plotline, we finally meet Ruth Anne's son, the money man, who is equally obsessed. He can't help but delve into markets, create business plans, and, like the bubble guy, he can't get out. Reasonably good episode.
