The precinct is on tenterhooks. A new temporary detective, who, I believe will become permanent at some point, comes into the fold. There are two cases. The first is a jerky young lawyer who invited some guys up to his hotel room and got more than he bargained for. He is Goth and made to be a bit like a Manson type. The second is the guy who Sorenson tuned up and got things out of whack. He got a walk, but Andy interviews the dead man's father and gets some critical information, which leads to one more foray into the investigation. While everything seems hunky dory for the time being, there is so much tension it literally hangs over the room.

Top notch writing and acting. Understated and believable supercop Sipowicz at his best, achieving the impossible with psychology, detective skill and toughness, but with compassion at a touching moment.
