Their son, Rod Wilson, became a cop hoping to help his father, now puts all his experience at her disposal. While she, Rob and the now retired police Lt. Webb re-examine the forensics as well as the means, opportunities and motives of surviving members of both families, someone in the know shoots at Jessica with a matching bullet. - While on a business trip, Jessica is booked at a luxurious hotel. A woman who works at the hotel restaurant approaches her, upon hearing of her exploits at solving murders, she asks Jessica if she could help her and her husband. Her husband was convicted of murder 30 years ago and was recently released and he is not exactly happy because he claims to be innocent. Jessica goes to see him and she learns that 30 years ago they were in a financial bind so he asked his boss for a raise but he said the firm is going under. His boss would later tell him that he wants to kill himself so his family can collect his insurance but he needs someone to get the gun and dispose of it. He agreed and did it but when the police investigate, because of circumstantial evidence, he was convicted. Jessica agrees to look into it and is aided by the man's son who is now a cop. Jessica goes to see the deceased man's son who is not exactly helpful. She later meets the man who investigated the murder who tells her that he didn't believe the man's guilty but was pressured by the D.A. to close the case.—rcs0411@yahoo.com
