Strip Search Diversion
caroltj19 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Much of the episode is a story with bare bones that seems disjointed. Lynn, played by the beautiful Alexandra Hay, acts as a red herring carrying information that is peripheral to the story. Unluckily for her she is detained by an all male security force who perform a strip search and who had forewarned her to avoid "much embarrassment by giving up the info or the search would be "very thorough." As she sits nude just covered by a towel, one of the men declares "it's not in the clothes." Whereupon their leader orders "continue the search" which could only mean a body cavity search. Luckily for her and before they "continue the search" he finds a lens case in her purse showing the info is in her contact lens as opposed to...elsewhere...and calls off any further search of her body. Alexandra Hay is wonderful as the nervous, embarrassed nude female fidgeting with wide eyes expecting the worst.

Warning: Spoilers
About 10 years before this episode was filmed, Fidel Castro and Ernesto Che Guivara successfully revolutionized Cuba. Fidel remained in charge of Cuba, while Ernesto dreamed of new revolutions.

The image of the curator from UPR (United People's Republic) in a Russian shirt leaves no doubt that the USSR is represented under UPR. Also, Vicente Bravo is a puppet of the UPR, drawing a parallel to Fidel - a puppet of the USSR.

Ernesto Che Guivara was very popular at that time as a selfless revolutionary and fighter against capitalism, and here an attempt was made to lower this popularity through episodes of bargaining for power and money.

Nueva Tierra - Cuba Vicente Bravo - Fidel Castro El Lider - Ernesto Che Guivara UPR - USSR

Hide and seek in the car, the use of masks, infiltration at all levels, the use of technical bells and whistles - it's all pretty standard and not so interesting to analyze.
