When Matlock is questioning John Delaney on the stand, he talks about Delaney's ring being cut down in size by his girlfriend. Matlock says that when Delaney gets the ring back, he has to wear it on his pinkie finger because it is too big for the other fingers. Obviously, if it had been cut down and would only fit on the pinkie finger, it would be too "small" for the other fingers, not too big.
