Well done

Well done episode.

Mary finally convinces Lou to let her actually produce the news as befitting her new Producer title. As problems and disagreements emerge among the crew and they all want to defer to Lou, Mary learns to assert her authority.

Nicely done story. Ted tries to influence Mary as expected but isn't too obnoxious. For me the funniest bits were the snide jibes from Sue Ann, put-out when another woman Producer at the station suddenly receives favourable publicity.

Producer Producing a Production
Hitchcoc22 February 2017
Mary realizes that she has been a producer for quite some time, but she is given no responsibility for the show. Lou still makes all the decisions about what goes on. He steamrolls her when she goes into his office. But through persistence, she finally convinces him that it's time for her to take on an entire show. Of course, Ted and others are on her case all the time. They tell her that Lou wouldn't have done it that way; and they need to talk to Lou. After all kinds of hesitation, she finally gets mad and gets people to just do their jobs. Ted is constantly trying to curry favor with her and she is learning. The "compliment" Lou pays her at the end is a priceless moment. Once again, excellent writing.
