David Ogden Stiers (Remember Charles Emerson Winchester of MASH) is the station manager. Mary is having trouble making ends meet and feels she should have a raise. By the time Lou is done with her, they make a unified effort to talk to the boss. Soon, they are both sitting home. He has given them a final offer. He is quirky and inconsiderate. Of course, Mary is on such a tight budget, she begins to wilt. At one point, Ted and Georgette come over and offer to loan her money. I know she is a fictional character, but one would think she could do better with the job she has. Nevertheless, there are some pretty funny moments.

Well done little story.
Mary is adamant she needs a raise (let's face it - Ted is right: she's a clotheshorse). Mary is prepared for all Lou's imagined excuses for not giving her one except when he says neither of them can get a raise as management knows that if one of them leaves, the other can step in to the job. So they present a united front to new station manager Mel Price (David Ogden Stiers, who is great here.)
Mel plays them well and Mary and Lou might need to come crawling back.
Good performances and many laughs.
