Garrett Morris was unable to physically appear on set during this episode because he was shot twice during an attempted robbery while he was walking to his car around noon one day in February 1994. He was shot once in the arm and once in the chest. He was still recovering from his injuries when he appeared as station owner Stan while in a robe and a hospital bed.
