Was nice one.

Francis knows she does not like him but he is like a hopeless romantic. He hopes to be loved. Maybe because of military.

She stole things from market. It was nice :)

It was sad she left francis but he is strong. He will get over.

Focus on Francis

Like with any first series the writers were still discovering the characters at this stage, but this is still a smartly written (by series creator, Linwood Bloomer no less) episode, that focuses on one of my favourite characters in Francis.

It's not without it's weaker exchanges and scenes, but even 17 years later it's still a darn sight better than most of the dross we have to put up with on TV/and in film that passes for comedy.

A show like this may date a little, but the wit and characters are still as appealing and fun to this day as they were upon their original viewing.
