Good Luck Doesn't Always Work for Everyone
Hitchcoc27 February 2015
A General's son is operated on successfully by the surgeons and out of gratitude some nice things are given to the unit. One of them is the building of an officer's club. It is replete with bartending staff, a juke box, full bar, and so on. Unfortunately, Blake is unable to get a banana daiquiri. The problem is that it is an "officer's" club. That means that the enlisted personnel can't use it. Of course, Margaret and Frank stand in the way of getting it open to the others in the camp. Radar, Klinger, and other regulars who are enlisted begin to snub Hawkeye, Trapper, and the other officers. Something must be done and the answer comes when the General's son is helped into the club while the General is there. It's a fairly ordinary episode that has been done before in various ways. Still, better than most comedy.

Officer's Club guest starring Clyde Kusatsu

Warning: Spoilers
I hardly ever review the episodes from the first three seasons of M*A*S*H (which in my humble opinion is one of the GOAT TV series, along with Dan Harmon's Community and Parker Lewis Can't Lose). Anyway, I like this episode because whilst it had the inevitable slapstick of Hawkeye and Trapper (I almost typed B. J.) engaging or running amok in Tokyo for 3 days rest and recreation, it also showed the humanity of the duo as they seek to break down the rank barriers of the newly established Officer's Club.

Clyde Kusatsu guest stars as Kwang Duk, the smart bartender. He would make three more appearances in M*A*S*H.
