Watching people shoot pool or play golf is about as exciting as watching paint dry, so this episode already has one strike against it going in. But at least it's a nice change-of-pace for the series and the premise is a good one, although the script isn't funny enough and puts too much emphasis on the billiard-playing itself.
With better jokes, this could have been a late-series "low-key" classic just like "Lucy Goes to Vegas" was back in Season 3. (No big block comedy scene in that one, but a wonderfully witty script more than compensated).
Not extraordinary, but at least the writers turned in something unique here.
