When Kolchak drives up to Mrs. Walker's house, the car out on the street is roughly at the 8:00 position relative to Kolchak's car. Then when the camera's POV changes to the front of Kolchak's car, the car on the street is now at roughly the 5:00 position to his car. (He even adjusts his rear view mirror to look at the other car.) Later when Kolchak leaves and he stops to chat with the driver of the other car, it is back to its original position.
The government leavers Kolchak alive but wipes his memory at the end. Why? Kolchak rarely has his stories published, most of the authorities in Chicago, Las Vegas, and Seattle would rather see him dead or disappeared, he has a habit of leaving town as seen in the two TV movies, and he leaves a tape recorder with dictated testimony at the end. It seems simpler and a more effective cover-up at the end if he just "disappears" or has an unexplained death.
Early in this episode while in his car, Kolchak in voice-over states that he's several blocks from Dr. Leslie Dwyer in Winnetka. The area he's in at that moment is Michigan Ave. in downtown Chicago, at least 22 miles away from Winnetka, not several blocks away as he states.
