Knight Rider (1982)

Trivia

Goliath: Part 1

Knight Rider

Edit
David Hasselhoff on Goliath: "Everybody remarks on [this] episode - honest to God, everybody does. And when I was doing it with my little earring, I thought I am never going to work again. And when my father saw it he said, 'Michael Knight's evil twin is a better actor than Michael Knight!'"
April Curtis, Bonnie Barstow's replacement, is introduced here, but it's not explained why she is there. In reality, Patricia McPhearson, who played Bonnie, was written out due to disagreements with the producers, but after lobbying by fans, David Hasselhoff (Michael Knight) and Edward Mulhare (Devon Miles), Bonnie was written back in. While April's departure wasn't explained, Bonnie's return appeared as 'returning from a university where she had been studying' although this isn't exactly explained in Knight of the Drones (1984) in which she was persuaded by Michael to return to the Foundation.
Colliding with Goliath sees the first time KITT is severely damaged in the series. This is also the first time it is mentioned how KITT's indestructible shell is made using a series of chemicals. In the pilot, it was explained as "a finish bonded into the molecular structure of a new substance" and explained that it wasn't metal or fiberglass.
The fanfare played when K.I.T.T. wins the hand of blackjack is the same fanfare used in Tron (1982).
First appearance of K.I.T.T's Infrared and Laser Power Pack additions.
