  Shayera Hol : [Turns around and looks at him]  I love you, John. I never lied about that.

  [Shayera flies off into the sky] 

  John Stewart : [Softly]  I love you too.

  [Shayera lowers her head] 

  Hro Talak : I didn't want to believe it. Shayera, I love you. I can forgive your treason, I can forgive everything, make this all go away. Just tell me what I need to hear. It was a meaningless flirtation, you were lonely, tell me I'm the one you love! Not *him*!

  Hawkgirl : If you want me, I'm yours. But you must spare the Earth.

  [Hro angrily hits her cell's force shield with his fist] 

  Hro Talak : Perhaps you'll forget him once Earth is nothing but a memory.

  [leaves her alone in the cell as he walks off] 

• [Hro raises his axe to delivery a killing blow to Green Lantern] 

  Shayera Hol : Hro, enough! The fight's over. You're a soldier, not a murderer.

  Hro Talak : [Hro slaps Shayera across the room]  I'm a fool for ever loving you!

  [as Shayera and Hro face off] 

  Shayera Hol : It didn't have to be this way.

  Hro Talak : Yes... it did.

• [Hro pins Shayera] 

  Hro Talak : [shouting in her face]  Was he worth it?

  Shayera Hol : This isn't about him, it's about us! Don't kill these innocent people, Hro! Find another way!

  [Hro loosens his hold of her, but then electrocutes her with his Nth Axe] 

  Hro Talak : There's no "us", anymore, Shayera. Just a fallen traitor, and a soldier with a job to do.
