The Invaders are "watching" Kevin McCarthy on a Time-Tunnel-type viewing screen and they soon send out a double of him.
A wonderfully filmed death scene at an airport is one of the big things that lingers in the mind about this episode. The scene looks like something from a Hitchcock film, the way it is directed and acted, such a well made moment!
But this is "Kevin McCarthy in Irwin Allen Land" to me.
Irwin Allen sci-fi of the period had sci-fi about alien doubles, aliens watching humans on fancy viewing screens and we even have Time Tunnel co-star John Zaremba (Ray) playing a General in this episode. Time Tunnel had just been axed so he was jumping from one sci- fi world to another.
The Watchers is a fine hour and Kevin McCarthy makes it even better!
